[Flu hiatus]

This entry was meant to have been a jolly paeon to the 'umble bacon sarnie, which could have led to any amount of musings on the oddities of homesickness, the inadequacies of German supermarkets, or the kindness of friends.

Instead I got the flu.

So until my poor fever-wracked brain recovers some of its coherence, I shall simply post the following:
